According to @JHopkins247, Wallace will enroll at San Jose State.

Apparently he was a redshirt freshman DB.

I know this is a broad statement but I thought he was another Doog diamond in the rough recruit that they were excited about.

The fact that 2 Wins John Ross was playing corner at the end of the year over Wallace gave me all the screenshots I need.

Wallace was a pretty decent CB, especially considering he was a RS-Fr. He pretty much started the year as the #3 CB on the team behind Peters and Ducre and had a chance to start next year considering the questionable depth at the position next season (more later). Hearing John Ross switch over to CB for the OSU and Wazzu games isn't terribly surprising considering we only had 5 CBs/Nickels this year, with Tre Watson above Wallace and Travell Dixon behind Wallace. He had a pick against ISU and 9 tackles in 9 games, so nothing special but good for finishing the year as the #4 CB on the team.

Looking at the CB position now, we're losing Ducre, Watson and Dixon to graduation and now Wallace to transfer. We only have 3 scholarship CBs for Spring camp with Peters being the only one with game experience. Kelly and Enewally both redshirted. The secondary is starting to look very thin at the moment, but with a coaching change, I wouldn't be surprised to see someone like Beaver or King switch over to fill the gaps. I also wouldn't be surprised if Gardenhire comes in as a CB when he arrives on campus.

So Peters (rsJR) and Kelly (rsFR) will start at corners next year along with Beaver (rsSO) and Baker (FR) if he signs at safeties?

Ouch.

Ouch.

Kevin King will probably start at safety

Even worse.
And he's an undersized CB lucky to weigh 180 in full pads ....playing Safety...

Imagine King trying to take down Myles Jack after he breaks through the porous DLine... should make for some highlight reel beast mode tape for his Heisman race

With Saint Wilcox leaving....no way is King in position to make the tackle. Jack will blow right past him.

Wallace got lured to UW when Sark hired Heyward. We needed CB recruits that year and were striking out so he nabbed him as a low hanging fruit (yes, that's a Grinolds term that I like to use). I read the other day that Wallace was unhappy after year one and almost left then.

We're thin at CB but things have been worse. It shouldn't be a big factor. It's not a return to the Vonzell McDowell/Quintin Richardson/Matt Mosley/Matt Fountaine/Durrell Moss days.
