Clark Phillips, 2020 5* DB, La Habra, CA (OFFERED 10/20/17)

Can't wait to hear from Ballz on how Ohio State doesn't produce any NFL dbs and Clark is too short so we didn't want him.

They produce NFL busts at DB (hi Eli Apple) and he was too short for us. We're not looking for a nickel in this class.

Don't forget he is from la habra. When was the last time a good player came out of la habra???

I know you're being sarcastic, but I'll never pass up the opportunity to look at the greatest Huskie of all time.

Flipped to the Utes. They've had a nice close the last few days. Fillinger, Carlton, and now Phillips.

All defensive recruits.

They've been putting together comparable or better defenses than us with 3 stars. Now they're legitimately leveling up recruiting on that side of the ball.

Will be chinteresting to see if Whitingham can handle the transition from coaching underdogs to stars.

Or if they can ever recruit talent on offense.

Arguably their best defensive player this year was Jaylon Johnson, and he was a top 100 recruit. So it’s not like it was all just a bunch of scrubs.

I’m going to put the odds at “low” that they ever find another Zach Moss level player on offense

RBs are fairly easy to find.

They'll get another Moss, assuming they have another OL as good as this one (which they should).

I saw yesterday they got a grad transfer QB in Jake Bentley from South Carolina. He isn't that bad so I now don't think they drop off as much in 2020 with all the exodus on the defense. I think he beats out Shelley.

Running back has never been their problem. They’ve had good ones both in and out of the pac 12.

The Samoan kid that played for the Steelers
Mike Anderson
JamAl Anderson
Devontae booker
Joe williams (did you know he retired?)

Others not listed also have been good as well. Their problem has always been quarterback play/passing game.

RB’s are so easy to find and develop if you prioritize running the ball.
