My feelings as well about college footballWe were all happier when our culture had like 3 consistent Christmas things and the cinemas had 1-2 Christmas movies if you wanted to see them and a handful of shows and Christmas specials on TV. I don't think you can stop the way our world unfolded in some ways. I'm just glad I got to experience what it was for a while.
The Throbber goes back and forth on whether the ways of the world was better back then. We received our information in small carefully curated doses on the evening news and the daily newspaper. Like most things, there are pros and cons of things that change over time and I tend to think sometimes you can't change things. I do believe the quality of elected officials was higher then. Now only sociopaths and narcissists can withstand the barrage of social media outings and criticism. The government still did shitty awful things but the outrage level was a lot lower.
Maybe after the next reset, simpler times return.
