A graphic Smalls shared on his Instagram story last week caused a collective hubbub among close followers of UW recruiting, but it appears to have been a false alarm.
The graphic was made in the typical “top eight” style, with the logos of eight teams bordering a cutout of Smalls, a five-star outside linebacker at Burien (Wash.) Kennedy Catholic, with a question mark over his chest. Washington was among the eight logos, which raised eyebrows because Smalls said in May that he was no longer considering UW. Was this his way of saying the Huskies were back in it?
It appears not. Smalls told The Athletic that he had nothing to do with the production of the graphic and simply shared it to acknowledge the work of the person who made it.
