I feel bad for the typical Gazan. Their leaders have betrayed them and Hamas runs the country like it’s Cabrini Greens. But more aid sent in whether it’s cash or food or whatever only gets stolen and circulated by Hamas and is used to further exacerbate the control that Hamas has on the people.

Most on this board have been very clear on Israel. Get out of their way is our only role here. Would prefer to stop sending checks to anyone involved, both sides. If Israel wants to buy weapons with their own cash, no problems there. Not sure where the hypocrisy is that you speak of.

Hamas was democratically elected and are STILL very popular with the Gazans.
I feel bad for the kids who don't know any better. Most of the adults are on board with continuing the fight.

We certainly helped them get started. But we’ve also helped lots of other countries get started that haven’t had anywhere close to the same results. I’ll let you think about why that is. But they legitimately don’t need us anymore.

Yep all true. I do wonder how much of that support is due to intimidation and needing to be supportive in order to at least be allowed make it to the middle/upper class in Gazan society. Kiss the ring kind of stuff.
