Too much interdependence on both sides economically that can't really be unwound, at least in short/medium term. The potential economic catastrophe is why China doesn't take Taiwan, not because we scared them off by our response in Ukraine.

Which is why they won't do it. They'll talk a big game at home for the masses but they aren't invading Taiwan.
