I was foolishly a Stoops Dooog and Campbell and Deboer are both LIPO meh to me. Didn’t love either of them but I would say over the past few days I was probably leaning more towards Campbell as my 2 and Deboer 3.

1. Stoops (no chance, may take over again at Oklahoma now)

2. Aranda (almost no chance, staying at Baylor or going back to LSU)

3. Campbell (decent chance but seems to be LSU or Oklahoma)

Dude, you’re showing your age. Have an adult buy you some beer, drink it, and calm the fuck down. This is obviously your first head coaching search since you could wipe your own ass. Life was good with Pete. We are now back in the hire and fire cycle for a while until we get lucky.

Most here aren’t thrilled with striking out on Campbell (and Stoops, who wasn’t going to happen) - but the idea that top-25ish schools consistently get their top choice isn’t backed by reality. LSU is still looking for a coach and Florida just hired the dude from Louisiana - and those are both better programs than UW. We are on par with Virginia Tech nationally - and wait to see who they get. Coaching hires are a crapshoot even if you get your top choice. Let it play out.

This is the whole fucking point.

Campbell could be great or he could fucking suck.

DeBoner could be great or fucking suck.

Anyone who thinks either is a slam dunk is a fucking retard.

As @RaceBannon has often said the next coach has to be “found”. No fucking retreads and no coordinators. You find an up and coming HC and hope to be more lucky than good.

He’s had plenty of other opportunities to jump. He’s a Midwest guy. Not saying you are wrong, but it’s not as simple as saying here is 7 million, come coach.

Matt Campbell is a god at Iowa State even though he has never beaten Iowa at
and seems to be turning into a slightly more competent Steve Sarkisian with a defensive forte.

He can go 7-6 there for the rest of time and probably still be a fan favorite for beating a 4-3 Oregon team in the shittiest NY6 matchup ever

At Washington, USC, other schools, the expectation is that Campbell is there to elevate the program and get double digit wins. He doesn't do that, he's fucking door ass out in 3 years tops.

I have no idea what I'm talking about but as far as big dick hires go Kiffan at Ole Miss Stoops at Kentucky and Pittman at Arkansas have all done well recently as lower end SEC schools. I welcome some education on why those names are interesting or stupid to bring up. I don't see why there should be any more than 20ish HCs in the country that are off the table completely.
