Caden Jumper, 2021 3* H-Back/FB/TE, Eatonville (HS), WA (Committed)

His Dad was a fucking beast

Fucking this. I still have a bit of a crush on Brandon so I fully support this offer.

Crazy amount of talent on that 88(?) Eatonville team, considering it’s bumhump eatonville

People forget Eatonville ran the I formation with Josh Dunning (WSU OL) @ fullback and Jumper @ tailback. Take lead blocker Dunning on and stop B Jump, then pop off.

I for one did not forget that. Dunning was a sophomore I think.

A few years later Eatonville had Bobby Lucht as a four year starter at QB, had some kind of national TD passing record for a while.

Back when Steve Gervais was still at his first coaching stop. Crazy how he won at every stop including his one year at Gig Harbor where they went to the state finals

Gerv was an offensive genius who for some inexplicable reason chose to coach under Tyrone.

@sonics really hates the offer. Hes all over dawgman talking about how shitty he is

I had to. It’s a real disappointing offer considering the targets we had on the board.

too early to make judgments on cato?

Yes. Give him a full recruiting cycle to establish some relationships before judging him.

early indications not too inspiring. In times like this I wish we had hired some established college coaches/recruiters when we replaced three this offseason

Think a lot of people wish that.

Agree, but in reality, arent most TE coach hires usually either GAs or analysts who get moved up or old retreads who have failed their way down/about to retire? If a guy is in demand, he's not taking a job as a TE coach.

that would be fine if his other two hires in John Donovan and Terrence Brown were actually experienced and good recruiters. Too early to tell on all three.... I get that. But I think it would have been beneficial to Lake to surround himself with experienced coaches who are also good to great recruiters. We maybe have two good to great recruiters in Adams and maybe Huff.

OC/QB John Donovan: Unproven as coach and recruiter

RB Keith Bonerpopper: lazy/layup recruiter maybe good rb coach

OL Scott Huff: good recruiter; can't really comment on coaching

TE Derham Cato: early returns not looking good. Unproven

DL Ikaika Malloe: had one good year of poly recruiting; pretty good coach

LB Bob Gregory: don't get me started. shitty recruiter and average coach. He played kyler manu so I can argue below average

DB Will Harris and Terrence Brown: this one is surprising me. Thought these guys would be battling oregon, usc, and asu for the LA recruits.

Would you trust this coaching staff in a recruiting battle with Oregon and USC much less Clemson and Ohio State right now?

No wonder Pete fucking got burnt out. He was doing everything and trying to control every little detail to his liking. When you take Lake off the trail I hope he knows what he's doing surrounding himself with this staff.

Oh, I agree. I think the db coaches was where you look for your ace recruiters. Brown and Harris both seemed like they had the potential but definitely havent seen it yet.

Didn't I read something about us using an H-Back in the new offense and that's what Devin Culp will be playing now? I'm guessing Jumper would fill that role.

That makes sense, because as a regular TE he offers very little. Don't love using a scholarship on it, but whatever, we're already using scholarships on like 8 specialists.

im hoping this isn't like a bonerpopper or gregory commit and hope he sticks at h-back. We need moore or matavao at TE. Wouldn't mind jumper at h-back or a WTE but need a moore or matavao to fill in that BTE role.

Dont be fooled by his offer list. According to his post-commit interview, he was starting to get heavy interest from Eastern WA and Wyoming. They just weren't quite ready to offer yet.

You snooze you lose

I like his tape honestly. Kid does a bit of everything on the film. When he is an all american, #1 draft pick, I'll remind everyone here he was a -3 star recruit.
