CA and OR Wildfires

In-laws home burned down outside of Ashland and both got out safe at age 77. They got the documents they needed. Wife is meeting them at our cabin at Lake of the Woods.

Seems like a Tool night.

Man so sorry to hear that

Thanks, we’re kind of at a loss of what to do and my daughters are too. We will head out to there if needed but there are gas lines still flaming and wildfires too. Crazy thing is that it’s sunny and 90 at the lake.

Big if true

Wife knows peeps obviously there and they are saying five people are under investigation for coordinated arson in the area, which is as Trump as Oregon gets other than Ashland, which is tiny Portland.

Ashland fire was legitimate, but northern fires all have the same pattern in Talent and Phoenix and near Medford.

All originated off of I-5 and spread west with the wind. Act of war, if true?

Extraordinary claim requiring extraordinary proof. If there’s that many people involved, they’ll be caught.

Looks like they are going to live in their one bedroom condo in Bend that they bought for $102,000 in 1999. Place is worth 4x that now but whatever. They’re safe and my wife had taken all of the photos

Her friends say there are already arrests but if I can’t verify it then it’s just a rumor. I’m going with rumor on the arrests but people are enraged there so emotion is overriding logic.

Side note; Fire in Paradise is a really really great documentary on Netflix about the 2018 Camp Fire that razed the town of Paradise and became California’s deadliest wildfire.

Paradise was pge caused they have it all 100% tracked down and we had massive winds that day from the east, just like Oregon now. A few may be arson, but 90% is pge or lightning. Blitz is off his mess on this

Ugh, they are all over

Since we all use electricity maybe we could all work on cleaning some things up and getting as much power underground as possible

If you could set your house temperature to 78 degrees, use a fan if you must, turn off the lights and unplug the appliances you aren't using, that would be helpful.

We actually like the AC at 79 because its not midwest humid. And old people get cold

I find it amazing that here in metropolitan Lebam, all utilities are underground. Down the road a spell the power lines reappear.

I will say this.

We’ve had 3 reports of arson in our little Bellevue neighborhood since moving in at the end of July. That seems pretty high.

I’m going to watch it after morning conference calls. It’s literally orange here today from the smoke filter yet I still see a neighbor's Hispanic yard crew out doing work. Maybe give them the week off and pay them, bruh? One for the team?

I pretty much assume everyone on the Tug is an asshole, including me, but this is unreal. That’s 1/8th of our state’s population.

Latest: 500,000 people in Oregon forced to flee wildfires

Who will pump the gas!?

Only the (Democrat) cities have gas pumpers now. Rural (GOP) areas are self-serve. Liberals here in Portland still need minimum wage felons to fill up their Range Rovers.
