Washington has been a mainstay in his recruitment.

"Coach KB (Keith Bhonapha), I like him a lot and we've been talking for a long time," said Cardwell. "He always understands my questions. When I ask what Seattle is like, since it's different from Seattle, he's always talking about how life is different up there."

Cardwell said he's also hoping to get up to USC in the spring and knows he'll for sure visit the Pacific Northwest.

"I plan on taking an unofficial visit to Washington soon," said Cardwell.

I think Newton might be really good, but he hasn't shown that much yet. It seems most here disagree with me on that though.

Runs straight up? Dude was laying the boom as the ballcarrier. He was the only player that showed any fight and heart in the awful Stanford game. Then he got hurt. He did have some underwhelming games and needs to break some longer runs. At times he seeks out contact too much.

I could see him not being much better than he’s shown. I don’t think that will happen and I think he will continue to improve, but we’ll see. Worst case scenario, he’s absolutely money in short yardage situations. He hits the hole hard and pushes the pile forward which leads to him being able to get the crucial yard or two when we really need it.
