If Saban wanted to try his luck elsewhere and be guaranteed a NT, there's only one logical choice and it sure as heck ain't the U.

Why there and not the U?
Both programs have rich histories.
Both have won titles in the color TV era.
Both have access to insane talent bases.
Both recruit at a high level when they're up and when they're down.
Both have littered the NFL with impact players for years, the U arguably doing it better the last few years.
Both have big brand recognition and cult followings.
Draw the meaningful distinction between these programs for me. Because I've always considered USC to be the closest analog to Miami. Their academic histories are even similar. Both were private school destinations for wealthy kids who couldn't get into more elite schools and both have become much harder to get into, though SC plays that game better by making Fall admits insanely selective and admitting the other 1/3 of the class second semester and transfer (SC is a huge transfer school) so as their lower stats don't get counted in their profile.
SC has no blue blood school located anywhere near their recruiting base. When SC has competent corching they can get whoever they want and neither us?, Oree-gon, UCLA, ASU are a threat. Hell, Austin is like 1400 miles from LA. Bama is only 800 miles from Miami and FSU and Florida are a hell of a lot closer than that.
SC's rented stadium is much closer to campus and a national historic landmark.
Not saying you shouldn't be able to win NT's at Miama so don't twist. They have more than anyone not named Alabama since college football was invented in 1983.

The right coach at Miami does as much or moar damage as the right coach at SC. Cook it!!!!!!
The number of guysm taking names in the NFL from one fucking neighborhood in their city is staggering enuff to have started a TV Show.
And there are key pockets of the mid-Atlantic where they've pulled historically, and they've been able to recruit pretty consistently in Texas, GA and Louisiana. I know SC can recruit, but it's hard (hard) to argue that's a variable in their favor over the Canes.
The only people who really care about stadiums are losers that have on-campus stadiums[/b]. hTh.
Hurtful. My heart and soul is in our? on-campus facility. Best shit summer jerb I ever has was painting wooden bleachers in old Husky stadium with the track and swim team gurls.
I'm waiting for a story about you and your Dads going to Husky Stadium on a cool, crisp, clear NW Fall day!!!!!!!
