apparently it wasn’t as much about next year, more so that he practiced with the team for two weeks and saw that moga and akili junior were way ahead of him, as well. Send him to the AA affiliate in Berkeley and if he develops well, call him back up in 2027LOLZ:

Should go back to Cal, and if he produces, take a bag from a real program. That’s his only option. All the big boys that didn’t already take a QB are hitting the QB portal to fill that hole.

That’s what QB recruiting has been become. Recruit a stud high school QB with a senior vet on the roster, or take a Diamond in the rough guy and try and develop behind a 2-3 year starter, or go with the portal with a gym bag of money.

The Hawaii kid basically said on his interview that Oregon told him there was no way he was starting next year. He was down to Cal and Oregon and the Cal QB just transferred to Indiana. He announced on Christmas Eve just as a giant fuck you to the Cal staff.
Moore is by all accounts the real deal and the Hawaii kid was gonna have to wait until 2026 at the earliest to see the field. He wants starter snaps as a freshman. It’s Cal. Bet the house.

Financially, it's a brilliant move. Play at Cal for a year maybe two if he doesn't break out right away. The moment he does breakout, he will gladly take the heaviest gym bag from a big boy school, and will start making NFL money as a sophomore or Junior.
