Breaking: Dodgers to sign Bryce Harper

The Brinks truck doesn't seem to be backing up to anywhere

$350M—no deferrals here—doesn’t fit in a pouch bag. The truck needs clearance for the guards—and Boras— unloading the money

I wasn’t wrong. The Dodgers needed more tim—and better ingres egress —to get their money in there. Meanwhile, the Phillies bagman swooped in and c’est la vie.

The Dodgers offer was 45 million per for 4 years

Lot of people think that was better because he's a free agent again at 30

That's definitely better especially once you consider the time value of money, unless you're worried about a career ending injury or the beisbol economy cratering. He'd only need to make 150 million in the next nine years (16.67 per) to recoup the difference, and again, TVM means the $180 in four years is still worth more.

Not sure how the state taxes factor in here but I wouldn't think they're a huge difference.
