Clay Helton probably has a better chance than most think. After the Orgeron debacle (hiring a new coach was the right move as long as it wasn't Sark), they might cave if Helton finishes the season strong.

Pretty sure both Petersen and SC realized it wasn't a good fit after he interviewed with them the 1st time. That ship has sailed.
 
The LA sports radio guys I was listening to yesterday seem to think it will be a "boring" hire, someone that can actually you know, lead the team and not get caught up in the hype around the program and try to be the life of the party.

 
USC could get Rich Rod or Todd Graham easily IMO. Whittingham would be wise to get out of Utah before he has a bad year.
