Blind Comparison of CFP Teams

Hi everyone – new member here. Thanks for having me!

As everyone knows, this year’s college playoff picture is coming down to the wire as we wait to find out what the playoff committee will say on Sunday. A buddy and I are very curious to know what the larger college football community has to say, so for fun we threw together a website over the past 48 hours that allows people to vote on blind side-by-side resume comparisons among the current top-10 teams. Our goal is to provide meaningful information about the teams still in contention to allow people to pick based on the data and do our best to (hopefully) remove personal biases in selections.

After you’ve gone through the voting process, you’ll be able to see your personalized top-10 rankings based on whichever criteria you found the most persuasive when picking the best teams. If you want, you can share your personalized results on Facebook or Twitter if you want to see how your selections line up with your friends’ picks. Your votes will also be incorporated into a global ranking of the teams that we’re going to publish once we have enough data.

Since this is so new, we would love to have any feedback or input if you want to give it a whirl. We are still adding a couple features and working through the technical kinks, so we appreciate your patience with us.

The website can be found here:http://bethecommittee.com/

Thank you!

I am 99% sure this was made by disgruntled Michigan fans based on their categories:

-Record vs. Power 5 Conference Championship Game Participants

How is that relevant? I would rather be in the game.

-Point differential

Way to go UM you piled up 78 on Rutgers, 63 on Hawaii, and 58 on UCF. How did that work when you had to face the Mighty Fighting Ferentzes?

-Advanced Statistical Ratings

UM is beloved by these systems for losing close to tOSU and beating a lot of bad teams badly.

Thanks for the heads up, Doog, and apologies for miss-stepping if I've already done so. I'll snag an avatar, as well. Thanks guys!

Figured you would want to see this data since it has so far presented UW in a pretty positive light. If sharing this is a complete no-no, please feel free to nuke this post.

We just fucking talked about metric warrior bs.

If you lose to a contender the last game of the season, you're out.

Need to add a counter for how many votes you have left, I thought it would never end. Also don't like the record against champ game opponents.

This isn't the tug tavern, I think you're lost.

I actually filled this out for shits and giggles and came out with 1) Bama, 2) UW, 3) O-H, 4) that team up north.

I did too, as if I didn't know the 11-1 team who lost to #11 at home and the one who lost to #25
