Biggest Oregon game of my lifetime?

As discussed my dad got up for the California schools and had disdain in his heart for the NW 3.

But he did have some hate for Oregon. That's where I got it. The Oregon game was bigger than WSU.

As also discussed its a weird rivalry. They didn't play for the Rose Bowl every year. They didn't play for anything

It was one sided under James and then became one sided in the duckade.

Recently it's gone back and forth. But until last year UW hadn't won a close game in decades. Oregon won all the close games post James

This year its a bit early but it's even and it matters. A lot

Should settle in as the last game of the season going forward in the B1G.

2000 I was at the loss at Autzen in September. It was a big game but no one knew how big at the time. Probably the most meaningful game yet the loser won the Rose Bowl

If we? lose to Arizona this Saturday it will be because the team reads this board.

If I found out the popular thing was for the team to read this bored I’d be proud and a little disappointed at the same time

The last Oregon game I attended/watched was the start of a day that was so promising but turned into a day that got shittier by the hour, capping off with me hearing about my newborn nephew being transferred to the NICU. I haven’t watched the two teams play since. Bad things happen when UW and Oregon play.

So yeah, given the stakes are extra high this year my already high anxiety levels around this matchup are through the roof.

Has the game ever been two top 10 teams?

Oregon football didn’t begin until more recently. Oregons top 10 teams coincided with the time that UW forgot it had a program. So I doubt it.

In 1959 UW had just suffered what would be their only loss to USC, knocking them out of the top 20, when they beat #11 Oregon. Oregon went to the Cotton Bowl that year

In 1960 UW was 9th when they beat unranked Oregon

AAWU 5 team league. Washington and the California schools

That's my guess as to when it could have happened

Wondered the same thing but I doubt it. I think both teams might’ve been ranked in 2000 but I doubt both weren’t top 10.

this would be the first time.

2000 was 20 (us?) vs 6 (you?)

2013 was 2 vs 16

2018 was 17 vs 7

couple other ranked matchups as well but nothing major. it would've been possible in 2001 but we? didn't play.
