Fuck that Dominican faggot with his own face on his bat. Dumper just shit all over him with his old man pitching to him. Cool that his little bro was catching too. Hopefully Cal didn’t just fuck himself for the rest of the season.
 
He has had an extended slump and power drought in each previous year. I kept expecting it in the first half but he seemed to follow every 3-4 game dip with a flurry of homers and run production. It looks like this is just his year.
He needs 17 homers to pass Mantle for switch hitters. House money after that. No way he stays hot enough to reach the 60s, is there?

He’s in uncharted territory. The next milestone is getting to 49 homers and breaking Sal Perez’s catcher record. I’d be surprised if he didn’t eclipse that. Passing Mantle would be unbelievable. Getting to 60 seems unlikely with 67 games left, but who knows. Everything he’s done so far this year was unlikely. Like you said, it might just be his year.
 
He's on pace to finish with 66.
He'll have rest days and, as catcher, probably wears down a little more than the average guy. I think 55+ is definitely happening.

55 means there won't be anyone lamenting a bad second half/wasted opportunity. Everyone knows 55 is ridiculous for a catcher, and taking that switch hitter record from Mickey fucking Mantle would be a solid honor.
I think just beating Sal would be great long term, but there would be a fair amount of disappointment and wise asses dismissing the whole thing and saying he choked because he's a Mariner.
 
If they bring back Suarez (hot rumor) he will get 56+…if they don’t, he will walk 2-3 times per game, and might hit 50.

IFL Edgar, but he became a HOF’er because he was Junior’s protection. Buhner benefited hitting behind Edgar the same way. They were pitched differently because of Junior.
If (BIIIG IF) they pull it off, Julio’s window to become a superstar opens. No more pressure to hit the 6 run homer, just make hard contact and hand it on to Cal, et al…
WTBS, I wouldn’t bet on it…
