The law gives the President pardon powers, so "above the law" is a pretty stupid remark. And this is the least surprising broken campaign promise ever. Hunter committed the crimes he was convicted of. He was prosecuted solely BECAUSE he is Joe's son though. He has had advantages most people do not because he's Joe's son too, so I don't feel sorry for him, but he would never have been prosecuted if he was Hunter Smith.

It's actually okay to say in this scenario that it's a bad look to issue this pardon after promising multiple times you wouldn't. You can still be on team KamalaBros and admit this is a terrible fumble, expected or not.
