Now i know when I stopped keeping up on music
I flipping back and forth between the various eras to satisfy everyone. That said, I do still enjoy many of the albums of this era although it's not my primary get off my lawn wheelhouse.

I remember Meat Loafs comeback fondly. I never listened to anything from him until 91 up through early 93. Always wondered, what happened to this mother fucker and then boom, he drops a hit.

I had a really really hard time picking against Tool but this song I blow the speakers out every time. Great riff

Also an upper echelon music video to go with it that didn't hurt the song or its popularity at the time … couldn't avoid this song if you tried

Meat Loaf has to be one of the most overrated stars or the rock music era. So much worthless schlock.

Absolutely but as a young dumb ass I enjoyed his schlock

There's always room for mindless schlock from time to time
I will agree with you that on the whole Meatloaf is vastly overrated to me … for the most part not my cup of tea
But this song … it just hit right

Also if we're talking worthless scholck …
Liz Phair
Never got into her music or of similar artists of that era … full blown nails on a chalkboard for me

I don't think Liz is for everyone, but she's not schlock. It's low-fi, indie rock and in my never humble opinion Exile in Guyville is the best female rock album of the decade.

If only Liz had tits as big as Meatloaf.

Depresses the diaphragm too much and hurts the vocals.

Lenny deserves some love, but I could also go with Smashing Pumpkins. Pumpkins probably had the better album, without listening to either of them to make this statement.

By definition if someone isn't for you then it tends to schlock
