With Grundle and Piss on the Fleet Foxes record... it's a great one. A friend of mine dated their first drummer - he was eventually fired & replaced by Father John Misty - but I got to see several of their early shows, they were amazing. Robin Pecknold is a colossal pain in the dick by all accounts, but he's an incredibly gifted dude.

I also really like The Walkmen's record from that year, You & Me.

And this one probably doesn't really fit neatly into the rock category, but Atlas Sound's album that year was super good too.

gunt.

Blessed to have you're contribution.

Got a choice cut from that Walkmen album? I know a couple of their songs, really dig The Rat.]

And yes, the fact that most Kangs are colossal pains in the dick is well-documented.

The Rat is an all-timer!! So good.

'On the water', 'In the new year', 'Four provinces' are all really good tracks off You & Me. I think some longtime Walkmen fans didn't like the album as much... maybe because it was a skosh slower than their traditional fare... but I loved it.

Also, if you're into The Walkmen, Grundle... Hamilton Leithauser put out a solo record about a month ago that I think is really fucking good.
