Super weird year, lots of good bands with mediocre releases. Liz Phair, Alanis Morissette, Mudhoney, Robb Zombie among others receiving votes.

You're right, not a skrong "rock" year. 1998 was the mainstream ascendancy of "electronica."

I'm off in the F.O. Sermon Seeker Weeds until Jack Black and Ryan Adams can come rescue me. @GrundleStiltzkin and I are gonna be up in your grill about NKFAO.

I remember my Godsmack phase.

I, however, cannot.

Back in 2009-10 I worked at a mortgage company. I got along with the bosses really well. One of them would come over to my cubicle, and he'd stick his nose at the top of it and inhale deeply and go, "I myself, cannot..." in an English accent. It was funny even after 23 times.

Huh, I missed this album for whatever reason. I pulled up the track listing and don't recognize a single song.

EDIT
Maybe I did hear this song at some poont.

I was a total trip-hop hipster in early 90s. "Oh you don't know Trick? Portishead? Mo Wax? It's only the BIGGEST thing in the Ewe Kay. I like to call Great Britain the Ewe Kay. It's something I like to do, bruv."
