1977 is one of the most fucked up log jammed years in this shit pole series. All of the LPs are all timers for me. But is what it is. Rumors is the most perfect pop rock record of the 70's most likely.
Fuck Fleetwood Mac.
That is all.
SR, YK.You guys remember Sharon, the woman I told you about who was kind of a mother figure to me in my late teens and early 20s? (She died in 2018).
I used to spend a lot of time at her house with her and/or her daughter Vikki. So one day I'm over there, and I told Sharon how I had just bought the new Fleetwood Mac CD. And she said "Oh come on Derek, I've taught you better than that." I asked what she meant. She shook her head and said, "black people don't get Fleetwood Mac. Tt doesn't compute. We don't know what the hell they're trying to do. Same goes for Bob Seger."
(I should add that she was black).
So anyway, every time I see a reference to Fleetwood Mac or hear one of their songs, I chuckle.
And I do have 4-5 songs of theirs loaded onto my iPod.
These are worthy candidates for consideration in 1977.

Low and Heroes have some interesting tracks but to me just aren't peak Bowie. Yes, he was cutting edge with Eno in Berlin but I'm definitely more glam Bowie or Plastic Soul Bowie.
Television is a great fucking record. It's top 10 for me that year, but I intentionally leave out stuff that I think might be too niche for this space.
Brian Kelly approves...so does Brian KellyWasn't sure if I wanted to vote for Talking Heads 77 or Talking Heads 77. I chose Talking Heads 77.
