Also, I consider whaling as part of the fishing movie genre.
I did two really embarrassing tours of duty on a commercial fishing vessel in Bristol Bay. I can attest everything in Perfect Storm is spot on.

And @chuck I've fished on the Gallatin River where the fishing scenes of River Runs Through It were filmed as well as the Big Blackfoot near Missoula where the story is set.
