I've always said it's because of the scheme previously ... it doesn't "speak" to top end edge players.
If you tell a 5* player "one of your most important responsibilities is setting the edge so it funnels the action towards the middle ... a smaller field makes for a winning team etc ..."
that 5* player is going to say "fuck that shit ... imma rushing the quarterback and destroying some dude!"
You have to completely sell the concept to 17/18 year olds and some of those high end players don't want to hear about discipline etc.
That's why it's easier to sell to players like Tryon that need years to develop. In fact, Tryon and what's his name that got hurt are our biggest selling points. We can tell current prospects that you could be the next Tryon and 1st round pick because the process works.

There's more information available on the interwebs on Teen Boyz yet the divergence in evaluation widens. More and more you're seeing the folks that do this 24-7 for living come back and say, 'who.gif' and the inevitable follow-on they whiffed.
Asleep at the wheel? They don't know what they're talking about? Or is Jimmy plucking these undervalued 3 star seeming projects and getting his guyz in there.
Have a feeling it's a mix of abundance. Either way, watching how these last two UW classes develop and UW's corresponding W-L ends up will be interesting.

Yeah they did. 381 composite is not far from a 4 star there I believe. He's a borderline 3/4 star guy. More highly regarded than Vea was though the claim has always been that Vea was overlooked because no one thought he would qualify. Which makes sense for schools to overlook him for that reason. Makes no sense for recruiting sites. Sets them up to look stupid.
