Petersen’s first class was considered average (mostly Boise 3 stars) and was absolutely bonkers.

Pete's teams weren't bonkers in 2014 or 2015 though. The offense was choppy, the defense was young. It took time to pop. Judd and UW have stated many times they don't have the money to buy a winner outright. He's said they would build it through the draft (recruiting) from his very first press conference. Nothings changed with him. Last years class sported four starters in 2025 and five more major contributors. 7-8 of those 9 are probably starting next season. If he gets another 10 talented players that crack the two deeps next year then he's doing what he said. People kinda bitch about the portal haul from last year not being stellar but they got a starting LT, G, S, CB, DT, 3 LB that started at different times, 2 DT that played minutes and rotated in, and a FB/Hback that played a lot before injury. For a team sorely lacking in depth it was a pretty good group that salved a lot of roster wounds. Most everyone agrees that road woes and the performance of the offense against teams with a pulse is a major red flag. No arguments from me. OTOH recruiting and talent evaluation are in fact something this staff do very well. Because UW doesn't have slave labor money or oil money or Cuban money or Portnoy money, I'll allow Judd the old fashioned three years to get shit right.

I honestly agree with both of you. Maybe that seems impossible but I do.
Shit takes time, but you also need the right guy at HC…especially at UW where there isn’t that much pressure to win big.
