I like my Bruins in this oneThis blows, because asu with taylor kelly is by far the best team in the south.

I don't know about by far because they are a flawed team, but I agree. Best QB in the South, and the best coach. If their young defense improves as the season moves along, they are the best team in the South. UCLA is not very good, and USC is coached by Sark.

Jim Mora Jr would like to have a talk with you over a nice slice ofcakepie.

Jim Mora has never proven to be anything better than an above average to good college coach. He also has some Sark in him when praising his players and fielding disciplined teams. On Hundley, "I can tell you unequivocally he's a first-round pick. He will be a star in the NFL." If he's going to be a star in the NFL, why does he play badly so often? I've tried to convince myself that I'm missing something because so many here are huge Mora supporters, but I haven't seen anything that leads me to believe a dynasty is underway at UCLA. Mora and UCLA are incredibly lucky that Pat Haden is USC's AD.
A lot has changed since 2007. I would have been happy with Mora replacing Sark (obviously), but I believe Petersen was a better hire. Mora would have had some good teams at UW, but I think Petersen has a higher ceiling at UW.

ASU's defense is terrible and unlikely to get much better. They gave up 300 yards to a low level D2 team at home. Just gave up 550 to Colorado. Their offense is the 2nd best in the league but their defense is in the bottom third.
The South will probably come down to the USC-UCLA game. Both teams could be 5-3 or UCLA 6-2 and USC 5-3 with a chance to steal it.

Why won't they get better on defense? Not saying they will be that good, but they have a lot of young guys starting and those guys sometimes get better. Graham is a good coach with a defensive background. They were up 31-0 at halftime against Weber State. It's probably safe to say most those yards came against ASU's twos and threes in the second half. 550 to Colorado is bad, but it was an easy win on the road.
The South doesn't have a real strong team, but ASU has the potential to go 6-3 in Pac 12 play. From what I've seen, UCLA and USC aren't better teams, and if they are, the margin is slim. The next four games are huge for ASU, and Kelly being out and probably hobbled when he returns isn't good for their chances. UCLA, @USC, Stanford, @UW. If they win two of four, they could win the South. If Kelly was playing, I'd pick ASU to plunger UCLA in Tempe. Now, it's probably a toss up.
