Are school shootings common?

"Far from being a "norm" in American society, school shootings are a tiny subset of homicides which are themselves not exactly a leading cause of death in the United States. For example, there were approximately 16,700 homicides in the United States in 2019. That's a rate of about five victims per 100,000 people. (By comparison, more than 100,000 Americans die of diabetes each year.)

Of those 16,700 homicides in 2019, 17 were due to shootings at K–12 schools. That means school shootings were 0.1 percent of all homicides and school-shooting deaths occurred at a rate of 0.005 per 100,000 Americans."

I'm not trying to downplay this and they have occurred for a very long time going back to at least 1891. The difference now is that they are being used as a political tool to deprive people of their rights. Evil will always find a way. I'm old enough to remember when a dollars worth of gasoline killed 87 in a bar.

Did we ban gasoline?

Suburban housewifes and soy boys run on emotion, not facts. They also don't think our government is capable of what other governments have done (some very recently).

They ignored the stats on COVID. Why do you think the authoritarians would suddenly become math truthful?

Deadliest school incident was some lunatic tossing dynamite in a school around 90 years ago.

Starting an argument off by saying that school shootings aren't all that frequent is always going to be a losing one. There's no reason there should be any kids dying from guns at school. That statistic comes off as trying to diminish lives lost.

ATBS, I am as pro-2A as they come and am not giving up my rights.

Perception is reality. Hearing day after day that America leads the world in school shootings that happen daily requires some sort of response

More and more politicians get weaker and weaker as the housewives get fed up

Well. Lock down society, remove kids from social interactions. Have them spend 18 hours a day on the internet/social media Fatten them up with no exercise and Uber eats and then act shocked when they blow their brains out in the school parking lot. Good job CoronaBros.

The question is... Why are so many people worried about school shootings when children are 25x more likely to die in a school bus accident? Why aren't people 25x more worried and vocal about school bus safety? Or other things that have a higher likelihood of killing their kids? It's always just guns.

That right there tells me that it isn't the actual safety of children that has people upset. Or else they would be acting much more worried about other things.

Border agent that took out the shooter did it with a shotgun that he borrowed from his barber. A shotgun took out a weapon of war. I guess we better take those shotguns too.

Isn't these Biden voters telling they want to take all our guns great stuff? These asshats voted for the guy that armed the Taliban with 85B worth of our military weapons and drone striked an entire family killing all the kids.

Great vote you useless shitbags!
