I bet you the coaches would say this is on Mickens as much as Miles. It's a fundamental principle to never let your man inside on a slant. This is where a bigger WR helps to shield the DB.
I hate everything about this play. It's a bad route, bad throw, bad play call, bad outcome. 3rd and 2 on the 22. Run it on 3rd and go for it on fourth if you have to.
