Seattle is a loser city ... they embrace average as success and believe everyone should get ribbons for trying their hardest.
Lol. This loser city ran your boy Mora out of town - door ass out - after one year because he sucked. Funny how that works.
chrisvashon has reached krisvashon territory in this thread.
Mora was run out of town for another guy with a track record of mediocrity in the NFL. The Seahawks got lucky with Pete Carroll.
So mora wasn't fired after one year?
Mora was fired after one year because the Seahawks are fucking stupid. They got lucky, just like Emmert got lucky hiring Saban at LSU.
Disagree, firing Mora wasn't stupid at all. They realized they made a mistake and fixed it.
In fact the Seahawks did what we are hoping the Huskies do. They weren't afraid of looking dumb and having the media shit on them. They made a bad hire(Mora is a college coach IMO) and fixed that hire.
Carroll, was a defensive minded coach who dominated college. Also in New England he led them to the playoffs two out of three years including a division title so he wasn't a total flop. His W-L is skewed with that one year stint with the Jets back when they were awful(won a total of 3 games in the following 2 years after Pete).
I think blaming the loser mindset of our fans is a bit much too. Our fans do have a loser mentality but
Miami is a shitty sports town too. They also have two world series titles, three NBA titles in the past decade. An undefeated NFL team, the best college dynasty in the 1980's.
Ultimately you need good guys at the top running your program/franchise. Paul Allen despite his failures with the Blazers knows what he is doing. Why the Seahawks are a successful franchise under his watch.
Conversely the Mariners and Huskies suck as they have bozo's running the show at the top.
