I've not said anything about them losing to Washington. Washington is crap and will get beat like the out of pocket bitches they are in due time. But this game, given the travel, given the fact that it is a night game, with them coming off a bye is going to be tougher. Tez was the security blanket for DG, he could go to him whenever he needed, and he was always open. I don't see any of our other receivers able to do what he does.

Washington was a 3 loss team last year without Penix

That's what fans of winning football teams do. Didn't apply to tOSU in 2014/15. Lots of teams can win and have won with backup QBs. I don't think Oregon is one of them.

I would say there have been teams that have won meaningfully with the backup, but it's the exception not the rule. Normally losing your starter means truncated expectations for the season.
Buck has been on a roll with QBs that is historically significant. They are clearly the exception with the run of players they've had at the position.
