Anybody notice the growing trend of coaches getting axed in October?

I think the recruiting and babysitting aspects make it harder. I bet a college HC shudders to think of how much time they waste on the ups and downs of shithead 18-22 year olds.
It's not easy to imagine a college HC getting by on less than 80 hour work weeks pretty much all year, and that's a conservative # in key periods or when any kind of fuckery/crisis pops up. I don't picture the same for NFL head coaches. Not even close, and Im thinking rhey get a lot more vacation time too.

Jokes aside, Harbaugh did well almost every year at Michigan but couldn’t beat Ohio State and had trouble with Sparty. They bottomed out in 2020, and were really good and beat Ohio State every year before capping it with a natty.

Correct me if I’m wrong but wasn’t he rubbing people wrong around the time he took a pay cut? I remember hearing he wears people out after a couple years or until he started beating Ohio State and the natty of course.
He was so good at Stanford and the foundation was so strong it carried what’s his face for years after he left. He’s a great coach, would love to have someone similar at UW obviously.

He definitely rubbed people the wrong way in San Fransicko. I'd imagine it happened in Michigan as well.
 
The college football product would probably be better if teams had a true GM managing all the non xs and os so that teams can have real coaches instead of having the necessity for used car salesman

I can't imagine ever going from the NFL to CFB to deal with recruiting. Fuck all that noise, all the travel, all the simping, etc, etc, etc.

I think he would do great in college. I think he’s a really good coach. He’s lost the team but that happens to most coaches in the NFL.

I don't think it’s easy to coach Tyreke Hill when things aren’t going well. When a QB and coach struggle and stop getting along, one always gets shown the door and it’s normally the coach.
 
Mike McDaniel doesn't strike me as a coach who sleeps on the couch. He strikes me as a coach who lights one up, then lays on the couch.
