Another reality check on the Fisch era

Well you can be flippant about it or answer the question. Or not.
It hasn't been strange for coaches to put their own money into the university athletic department they work for ever. Now that the money is HUGE and football teams consist entirely of hired hands, you'll see more and more of this. Now you can just fund the effort to hire players directly.

Ok I did a little research, so this guy took a million of his own dollars to put back into the program for NIL and facilitates????
Oh dear god.
@gracebannon how is this not your kill shot for your argument against upper campus and their lack of commitment.
I rested my case 30 years ago

Ok. I don’t know. Maybe. Sounds worrying to me on first impression.

He's betting on himself and the belief that the next job will pay him 8 figures.

UW beat Michigan UCLA and USC
Got blown out 4 times
Lost to Rutgers and WSU
Michigan beat USC and Ohio State. Lost to Washington and Oregon
The game has changed

We've just finished podding for our pods. The only positives I/we could think about Fisch were:
Jonah Coleman is coming back.
He invested $1 million of his own money into the team.

That's about all
two things.

I didn’t know about the $1 million. That’s something.
also, where was Coleman last night? I would think you’d try and get him going with a young and inexperienced QB. they seemed to give up on the running game too quickly.
I mean, after sack number 5, I think even I might start seeing a trend.
As I've said all season, I would spread the field and then hand off to Coleman

Pretty sure UW put up a million in his name as part of his contract to fool the rubes

That reminds me, the lateral pass to the sideline (Coleman) was another terrible play-call. I had forgotten about Coleman until that play because Jedd abandoned the run game outside of Demon running for his life constantly all game after the drive. Our lines really do suck and the D-coordinated will follow his dad to the Giants/pros.

They didn't abandon the run for no reason.
Coleman at one point had 6 carries for 5 yards.
The line is D2 quality

the progress of the lines will determine UW's fate in 2025.
there are some good recruits coming in, no one doubts that. UW has to go hard for the right pieces in the portal.

He finished with a whopping 3 yards on 11 carries.
Maybe ten more rushes would have broken things open?

he was getting blown up behind the line of scrimmage.

it was pretty obvious in sept that Jedd is all about Jedd and his plan is incremental progress so he has to throw year one to show how much better he’s made the team in year 2-3.

It’s fucking mid tier shit, sark 2.0

$1mm in this economy is like sven's $20 back when race was a wee lad.

Is "no one doubts that" a halfbrainism or just more dumbassery from you?

FOIA request!
i also wonder if this was a "pledge" over like 5 years. So he's put in like 200k so far. As there weren't any details released, I think we can assume it's not just a million dollar check.
That said, if I was a coach trying to get to the next big contract (and I believed I was a great molder of men, as they all do) I'd put in a few million of my salary to buy a roster that could get 10+ wins and vault me to my next gig. I'm actually surprised more coaches don't do this (and maybe they do).
