I think it's time to consider a really good shotgun for the front door. We live in a nice pretty secure neighborhood but recently someone just talked into an open front door and made away with property. In the middle of the day they left the front door wide open when they exited. Our door is always locked and if we're not expecting company, we never answer.
Pretty sure this was a first timer. Certainly not a felon in possession of an illegal gun.
Every one should have a door bell cam. We were in Bend a few years ago and got a Ring notification. My wife pulled it up and became hysterical. Turned out a local kid high on the spectrum had taken off from his home with a butcher knife and cops were going door to door.
