I get how you guys think things will work. Fox News was so confident in their factual reporting of Dominions machines that they forked out $500 million and fired Tucker Carlson.

I audited a company once that had a lawsuit receivable on their books for like $20m that had settlement terms of $100/year for basically the rest of time. They didn’t give a shit about the money coming in and didn’t want to bother to find someone to buy that non existent cash flow. All they wanted was to declare victory.

Fact: 500 million for one, 67 million for another. You don’t settle for those amounts, especially the 500 million unless you’re convinced you’re gonna lose and fork out even more in damages
The simplest explanation is the best. I can’t believe I’m arguing against “you don’t know what’s going on behind the scenes” or “x,y,z happens a lot in these cases”…you don’t know either and therefore you can’t make a valid rebuttal.
If President Biden was actively interfering in this case or blackmailing FoxNews and Newsmax to make a deal I’d take that into consideration.
