I’m in the middle on this one. In most instances jerseys are for little kids and the players. The exceptions for everyone else are: a player older than you that you grew up a fan of, a player who is a family member or close friend, an all time legend current or former. Generic jerseys without name plates are fine too, especially on chicks.

It’s so embarrassing seeing some middle aged or older person rocking the jersey of a mediocre player now on another team or on the street. I really want a Kraken sweater, to only wear at games, but not until they land their hockey Jesus for this very reason.

I personally own two jerseys:
  • a generic UW blackout #1 jersey from when they first started the blackout games
  • An Edgar Martinez Hall of Fame jersey that I wore at his induction

I’ll be attending Ichro’s induction in July, so I may add a third jersey.

For college no. For the NFL, the Sean Taylor jersey might come out for important games.
Giving a clear exception for the Sean Taylor jersey ( @RoadDawg55 ), I'm in the no jersey camp.
I am my own hero. And @PurpleJ . Players are the hired help for my entertainment. Simple as that.
I actually have 2 Sean jerseys, one his rookie year #36, and then 21 in the Skins 75th anniversary throwbacks. No more jerseys will ever enter my house.
@RoadDawg55 just never got it.

Dude was elite (Taylor, not Roadie)

Roadie where are you and your terrible takes on ST?

He’s either dead or in jail, ese. Those are the leading theories.

well, his insults of the great Sean Taylor are certainly deserving of jail time.
but it more than that.
hope he’s well. I intend to continue calling out to him, even if in vein.

I have a collection of hockey/soccer jerseys. No football, though. That’s too gay for me.
I found you a futbol jersey for your collection, pal.

I’ve got a high end replica 91 Rose Bowl jersey that I bought off EBay years ago. I’ve worn it to maybe two games in the last 15 years. One was an Oregon State game in 2010, 2011or 2012, can’t remember for sure. I told my buddies in section 8 I’d do a Compton Quake in the concourse if we won. Thought the jersey would be appropriate. We won, I paid up, fun was had by all.

I started my addiction in 1982 and own a bunch of jerseys, Mom bought my first, a Steve Pelluer Spanjian replica.

I think I’ve owned 2 football jerseys and maybe 1 basketball jersey in my adult life:

A 91 era Dave Hoffman Huskies jersey, is the only one I still have. I’ve worn it outside the house once and that was in Houston for the natty when I organized a circle jerk for you fags. Why did I wear the jersey then? So those of who showing up had something to look for.

Jerseys are fine. Never cringed at a dude wearing a jersey to any sporting event it's part of the fun even though I'm not really into it myself. Id rather a stadium full of purple jerseys over a stadium of grey polo'd mutes

Most of the people here aren't into fun.

So this whole sport is a game to you???
I'm mostly agreeing with you.
I've never really noticed anyone over 40 (and pretty rarely over 30) wearing a jersey. It doesn't seem to be a thing with this fanbase. Mostly faded Locker jerseys for some reason if at all.
Over the half the season you have a jacket on anyways.
It's a dumb thing to try to throw shit at.
If you want to find a reason to hate people in husky stadium, bring me the people that wear pro team shit to a college football game.

As of today I own one jersey. NY Yankees #23 Mattingly jersey. When Russell/Rawlings made them. If you are going to own a jersey, own a legend or of a player who has his number retired.

As a little kid I owned a few of those jerseys you could get out of the Sears catalog
#10 Tarkenton
#44 Chuck Foreman
#83 John Jefferson
#14 Fouts.

Willing to offer an olive branch to the unbuttoned baseball jersey over t shirt look.

Untucked.

Football and basketball jerseys are gay.
