According to Thamel today.. Judd in play for Florida

All-time terrible UW game. Trey Adams got taken out for the season and was basically never the same again. Final play of the game their typical gunslinger throws INTs against everyone other than UW overthrew his receiver on 4th down and it went to a TE who had never caught a pass before. He caught it for the first and Rapp ran over Jordan Miller breaking his leg as time expired. Stanford then roasted us with JJ Offensive-PassInterference because we had no tall corner in our only other regular season loss.
We also had an Ahmed reverse for a TD earlier get called back on a holding call.
Dont forget Browning on the sidelines throwing a fit as UW missed 2 or 3 field goals
I stand with Jake on that one

How many programs out there can afford to do the "fire coach, pay big buyout to fired coach, hire new coach at a premium and pay their buyout to their current employer" cycle every 3 years until they get it right?
Schools are quickly going to realize they can't do this more than once a decade and fans at places like Auburn, Florida (has been program), etc are going to have to adjust their expectations.
On top of that, the best college coaches all want to LEAVE for the NFL.
The coaching carousel is not sustainable. I would not want to be a school making a hire this cycle.
Almost all of the open schools are going to end up hiring a guy at a lower level and then selling their fans on using the difference to buy more players through the portal.

he's not leaving. His wife LOVES it here. Plus he had kids in school. Also has CONTRACT.

Damone?

You’d have to be a young coach looking for a payday or a moron to take the Florida job. It’s destroyed the careers of everyone except Urban Meyer in the last 20 years. Alabama and Georgia have moved way past UF and LSU has a lot more funding and support. Unless you are an all-world coach you’re hoping for 4th in the SEC and lasting 3 or 4 years before you get run off for not being Spurrier or Urban. Curious who actually goes for that job…think they are going to have to take a chance on an inexperienced hire.

You mean like Billy Napier?
This is all just leveraging your current employer for more money. I think it's pretty set in stone at this place that 10-2 and the Playoff and you can get a statue built in front of the stadium that Kim will make cringe X posts about.

I believe Kiffin will get poached by the NFL most likely. Sark would like to bail to the NFL too but he’s an average coach with a Nike checkbook.

Both could coach in the NFL if they really wanted to. Yes, Sark too.

They make more in college. No NFL team is going to bend over backwards for Kiffin and they definitely won’t for Sark.

Mike Macdonald, the head coach of the Seattle Seahawks, has an estimated annual salary of approximately $9 million, making him one of the highest-paid rookie head coaches in NFL history.

Kiffin has been fired and an assistant and fired from that and is still ticking in line to make more than the Hawks coach in college
McDonald has three years tops. Looks good so far but things change all the time. If he fails its back to the coordinator line

The top 10 or so NFL had coach salaries are higher than the current #1 paid college coach.

They also have won or been to Super Bowls with a couple outliers like the Bears
I'd pay Andy Reid 20 million

True, but as you also point out McDonald at Seattle is making $9 million a year and hasn't won a damn thing. That's still more money than 95% of college football coaches.

We should give Mike McDonald $15m if Fisch gets poached. He probably turns it down, who knows who else hears about it might be interested in that contract.

Probably turns it down? Hey Mike do you want to stop succeeding coaching professionals and instead recruit high school douchebags on Tiktok?

Yeah of course he turns it down. Point is that just offering it may turn up a candidate that no one considers would be interested.

Hell yeah, I just sent a DM to Sydney Sweeney. Let's see how it goes.
