Go to the 2:02 mark as UCLA begins its final drive of the game.

UCLA was undefeated, UW had been ranked #1 in America but lost to Stanford the week before.

UCLA and Washington both ranked in the Top 10.

Washington leads 10-7 with 2:57 left in the game.

At one point, UCLA throws an incomplete pass on 2nd and 10. There was a holding call on UCLA. Don James DECLINES the holding penalty.

Exciting ending to the ballgame. Bill Stapleton with the ferocious hit!

I wish Husky Stadium could get that loud again

I was there and outside of the 92 Nebraska game, that was the loudest I remember Husky stadium. Impressive, considering the second deck wasn't installed and the sound wasn't enclosed

No video board. No vomit inducing advertising. Students and band at mid field

Crisp fall day. Two dads

No replay. TV timeouts were shorter if it was even on TV

It was just better

They handed out glossy placards that day. "Husky Fever" or something similar. When the Dawgs stopped UCLA late in the game, dad and I had procured a box full of the bastards and flipped them at other fans in the south upper deck and the old codgers didn't care or tell us to sit down. CSB

Watching that video, during the timeouts you hear the sounds of the stadium, as its not all drowned out by pumped-in rap or rock music.

I still remember that hit and that game. What a blast.

Unfortunately that hit is a targeting penalty now, and he's out of the game and UCLA and John Lee kicks a chip shot FG to tie the game.

I miss the giant shoulder pads on the defense, but I can't believe I never noticed how ridiculous they look on the QB.

Final note, Tom Ramsay had one of the greatest porn staches in football history.
