For the record, Liverpool is not front running and neither is my first place Colorado Avalanche (I will eventually rock that shit).

I’ve been an Avs fan since they were in Quebec. I mispronounced the name as Nord eh cooos. Then they moved to Colorado and won the cup the first year. Lil J stayed up to watch them sweep in triple overtime. Dad happened to be in Denver on bidness so he brought me home the Denver Post afterward and a hat, both of which I still have. My Avs have sucked since the salary cap blew up our dynasty. But now we have a brilliant front office led by former captain Joe Sakic, who stockpiled first round picks to build a young sqwad that can contend for the next decade or so. We beat the number 1 seed last year, complete with a debut from Cale Makar (lost the NCAA final and jumped a plane to join the playoff run and scored on his debut...first defender to ever lead the NCAA in scoring and won the Hobey Baker award). We lead the league so far and have been blowing everyone out. Sakic looks like a genius, after making some great trades before this year.

Been a Liverpool fan since the late 90s because I idolized Robbie Fowler. He once celebrated a goal by pretending to snort the sideline, in mockery of allegations of cocaine use. Liverpool haven’t won the league since 1990, so I am very excited about their prospects this year. We have won the European championship twice in that span and several other trophies, but the domestic title drought hurts. Currently undefeated in league play and defending European champs, after a decade of darkness.

So csb. I’m not always a front running troll. I have REAL teams that I love as much as my DAWGS. But usually I need a bandwagon to make things interesting. I need a rooting interest. Blame @RaceBannon if you want. It is great fun.
