How long could you last?

It depends on a variety of factors, many of which I have no control over.

What about you?
 
I’m focused on being above the 75th percentile, but I don’t want to be in the 99th percentile

The most important word and often neglected… water
 
You get in the car and go where? Let’s say hundreds of thousands are fleeing as well? Driving away might be a worse situation. Most people can’t afford spare food. Supposedly half of America has no savings and can’t afford a $400 emergency repair.

I'm not the expert, so could be wrong, but I imagine martial law gets called immediately and mobility is limited to specific sectors while they get back online.

It would be a shit show, the toilet paper hysterics would amplify to apocalyptic levels.
 
You just figure shit out. As long as you have a water source, a propane grill with enough propane, you should be able to hold out for a few weeks. Longer than 8 weeks, that’s a whole different story

Shit I used to be almost 100% self sustainable. Still have the ammo and guns but no auxiliary power or solar or any land or ground water. 3 more years and I'm out of here...I hope.

I think you underestimate how bat shit the general public will get without water, power and empty stores (likely raided) after 72 hours or so.
 
People with lots of kids are not prepared for keeping their kids fed in a time of real catastrophe. Imagine, nice neighborhoods on the line with poor and destitute people.

This scenario eventually plays out.

If you know how to hunt, fish and prepare your own food you will be fine. How many people can hunt, kill, bleed, skin, quarter and prepare a deer? This is well less than 20% the population now. Maybe 10%. Urban centers are completely fucked and will devolve into bedlam quickly. I'll be fine.

I do my fishing at Whole Foods. City dweller.
 
Living in the desert my biggest concern is water. To that end, I have a pool and a distiller. I live amongst a large Mormon population, who are renowned preppers. As I have plenty of guns and ammo, I’m sure arrangements can be made.

The problem is most people know how where I live and the game will immediately disappear. They know how to can, jerk and store stuff.
 
Until my vehicles run out of gas, I could easily live on venison for as long as those fuckers keep trying to play tag with my car.

Could probably pick off a couple deer per week at the Compound. Those are the dumbest fucking animals.

Quick Note: With an EMP, all electronics will be fried. Only very old automobiles (with gasoline) will be operable. Computers will be inoperable.

Doubt that generators will be operable.
