It's year one, but it's time to overreact. As previously discussed, the three year rule is now the two year rule and we should have a pretty good idea of what we have with Deboer this time next season.

UW being UW and struggling with the NIL/recruit game, we need to win to make up ground and the final stretch is a huge opportunity. The defense is such a liability that you really can't pencil in a win anywhere, but a Rick like NW championship would do wonders for the perception of the program as we head into uncertainty with conference realignment.

I don't see how we win in Eugene, would love to be shocked, but even a Doog has his limits. The margin between 3-1 and 2-2 is razor thin, but has huge implications. 2-2 would be a bad sign imo.

This November could mean nothing, or it could mean everything, either way it will be interesting.

Lose to Oregon unless there’s a festivus miracle of epic proportions.

Home field should be enough vs Beavs.

Colorado is fucking horrible and unlike last year, this UW team still has a pulse.

At WSU will be TUFF and their defense will be one of the best we play but their offense is atrocious.

Win…loss… win….Loss
Loss to Penn State in Bowl game as
Martin, Rome and Kirkland sit out.

We’ve seen this movie before

They should be able to beat every team but Oregon. UW being UW they'll lose one they shouldn't and be blown out by Oregon.

2-2 (5-4 in conference) is the bare minimum I think we need to see from DeBoer at this point. It would be better than 50% of Pete's seasons at UW and leave me feeling that, at least, we're still trending up. 3-1 (6-3) would have be Dooging that DeBoer probably the "the guy" and we need to keep him.

I said I'll hate Deboer if we don't control our destiny heading into November, and I still stand by that because the ASU loss was terrible.

The conference was shockingly top heavy this year and the margin for error was non-existent (unlike Browning's senior year)

However, Beat a ranked Oregon State and head into a BONEM game to stay in contention through the end of November is a decent consolation.

A loss to Oregon state robbing me of the final Doog opportunity of year is a fireable offence.

Never forget. As someone is always quick to point out, 9 is the new 7. I still feel the ASU loss in my guts. A thrumming kick to the nuts that game was.

2-2 isn't acceptable but I can't confidently predict UW beating anyone other than Colorado.

Yes he needs more time. He's going to get plenty and he better use it to figure out something on defense.

I almost put 2-2 but the Doog in me thinks that the bye week will have the team tan, ready, and rested [/s] at full health and Eddie O. will play about 15-20 snaps vs. Oregon State. Plus I imagine the D coaches will have changed some of the coverages so that, even if Perryman, Powell, and Turner, and Hampton are all 100% (each has battled injuries this season), they won't be asked to play man-to-man quite as much while reinforcing press technique. Or if Perryman is playing tight man D, he has help over the top more often than not.

2-2 Nothing special and this is the High WATER mark as next year descends into a lesser team with lesser talent ~ yah these guys can coach, but you need better talent to win. Just my opinion of course.

Not sure what the poll was asking, but I think 2-2 is the most realistic finish, which sucks balls.

Hedging my bets with 3-1 here and 8-4 in the original preseason selection.

That way, whatever happens, I can bump the thread that I was right in and say "I was right"

I think it'll be obvious right away this week if anything changed against BYE. Until I see it I'll continue to think UW is mediocre and heavily flawed.

...But at least 7-5 could set up a lovely Jimmy Kimmel Los Angeles Bowl Dec 17th against, probably, Boise State...who I think we? open '23 with, too.

Someone fucking kill me if I'm right.
Cheers
