Yup. Sark is not an elite head coach. If UW truly wants to run with the big DaWgs and return to excellence, they're gonna have to shell out 3.5-4 mill./year and hire an elite HC.

I don't understand why I hear all of this optimism for next season either. A mediocre HC just doesn't miraculously turn into an elite HC, from one season to the next. Especially after four consecutive seasons of consistent mediocrity. Okay, so, for next season:

1) We have a QB who is an absolute shell of his former 2011 self, w/ zero confidence (arguably the most important characteristic of a successful QB), a new found turnover propensity and gimpy wheels. Behind him, our QB experience equates to a whopping five collegiate passing attempts, all against an FCS opponent.
2) Our line play on both sides of the ball is embarrassing in year four of this shitshow... some of our defensive lineman look smaller than old school Husky LBs/Safeties, no pass rush and they get manhandled every week. Our OL is no where near where it should be in year four. Sark and Co. seem to ignore the elite line recruits, but they are just as, if not more, important than elite skill recruits. We haven't signed a single four star OL recruit since the 2010 class. Not one!
3) Aside from Sankey, ASJ and Kasen, we do not have one proven play maker on offense.
4) We enter the 2013 season on a 2 game losing skid.

But hey, we're gonna compete for a conference championship next year, Folks! Give me a fucking break. Does anybody genuinely believe we have a chance, any chance @ all, @ beating UNike next season? Because until we get to that point, we're a mediocre football program.

I dealt with Steve a lot while he was at Washington. First thing to know is he is incredibly bright. He learned a lot at Washington and fought some demons. He's a bright, articulate, charming, engaging guy who is also competitive as hell. He's appeared to put his demons behind him.

You're going to love Sark. It will be interesting to see who he fills his staff with. Knowing the competitive nature of Sark, I'm sure he negotiated a large assistant salary pool. If he gets Tosh Lupoi on staff, watch out. Tosh is one of the best recruiters I've ever dealt with. He's currently with Atlanta.

He's an outstanding recruiter and phenomenal working with QB's. He trusts his guys and has an edge. Guys love playing for him.

Texas didn't hit a home run with Sark. They hit a grand slam.
 
I think the Texans, maybe the Cardinals as well, have to make a guy like Sark say no to their openings. He has like 8 years of HC and several years of OC experience at the highest levels of college and will do everything possible to win some games.

Damn, sounds like Grinolds can't handle the copy pasta/bump lifestyle. When the copy pastas get flying here it's almost impossible to know wtf is live or old. It's taken me several years to get my reads down and sometimes I'm like,

Oh but I've been sooo burned by PETERMAN, Jen is the WORST, DOOGS SUCK, the Athletic Department is SOO INCOMPETENT.

Get over yourself and go to the game. I swear the old guard here acts like a bunch of too cool adolescents. I'm sure there are some here so jaded that they actually want UW to LOSE on Saturday, but I'm not sure that's many. How about admit that you'd like us to win and get your lazy ass to the game. And quit with the "I've been so heartbroken I just can't care anymore". Seriously, that's your mental toughness level? GET to the GAME.

And yeah, this isn't Softy, isn't Jen, isn't anyone other than a fan whose hung around on this board long enough to feel the need to call your BS. Yes, you.

Ive been around The Pit a long time. I guess its time to leave. It just isnt fun anymore. It used to be. It used to be funny, creative, informative, and a resource if you needed something that you had no clue about. Its changed.

The guys at dawgman have probably been more lenient to The Pit guys out there than any other site. We used to consider ourselves as Friends of The Pit. We laughed and usually just tried to ignore stuff. Fetters and I would visit the pit and weve also been to the KOPs. Because some of you knew us and because of the slack we cut you guys, most of you wouldnt push things too far. It was funny once in awhile, but it isnt any more. Some of you just dont know when enough is enough. Some dont know when to stop. And some of the newer Pit members are just trying too hard to fit in. It used to be that all the guys on The Pit had each others back. Not any more.

The amount of complaints we're getting from what some of you guys are doing has definitely increased. Some of you are having a tough time figuring out whats ok out here and what's appropriate for dawgman. Its not that hard. Some of you guys just don't care and thats our problem. The biggest problem is that Fetters and I are accountable not only to each other, but others as well. You guys have no clue how big of a shit storm you caused with Anthony. The network was all over me on that and I did everything I could to make it a non issue. I got things calmed down and then a couple of knuckleheads out here stirred it all up again. A little bit was funny, but what some of you don't get is its still a business. Screwing with somebody is one thing, but when you're screwing with their business and impacting their work, its a different story. Some of you just take it way too far and dont realize we have jobs to do.

I have to be somewhat PC on dawgman and this was a place I could come and let my hair down a bit. I could interact out here in a way I couldn't at dawgman. I guess its really my fault. By doing so, I guess I opened the door for you think it was OK to make dawgman your playground. Well it's not. So, Im done.

This place hasnt been the same since Crawley died anyways.
