2026 UW Roster - Defense

And to Robinsons credit he might not be the absolute shut down guy Taco was at his best but he seems to be very physical. Could see him being used on blitzes and a sure tackler
I prefer that type of CB. Covering is still the most important part, but I like CB’s that hit, blow up WR’s screens, force fumbles, and do more than be good against jump balls. And catch the picks when you get the chance. Prysock dropped so many picks.

The lack of picks is a great point. Left a lot on the table

Prysock got remarkably better this year under Walters than he was with Nepo

With all the craziness of the portal, people here seem to forget that players do tend to get better the longer they are on the roster.

Robinson will make a big jump. He was the second highest recruit last year right behind ZRS and got tons of high leverage, high competition experience. Karnley is a copy of Prysock and was really good for an 11 win Virginia team last year. Clark although listed as a safety is the starting NB and he was really, really good at that spot. He’s physical and has a real nose for the ball. Kids just got to stay healthy. I’m very excited to watch this defense in year two under Walters. Tying Ryan Walters up to UW for the next few years didnt get enough love on this board. That was huge considering how many big time DC jobs came open. Kept expecting to get the tweet he was heading to Tennessee, LSU, PSU, USC etc. and it never came. Paying Walters and holding off on paying more for Judd were pretty obvious moves for Chum to make and I’m pleased he actually followed through on both.

Robinson will be really good. A starter off an 11 win team sounds good too. I have never seen him play and was skeptical because he’s bounced around and is a former Arizona player.

I’m not too worried about the defense being at least good. I am having a tough time seeing it become great. There are a lot of good players, but very few, if any, can’t miss, difference makers.

I think the three DT’s we brought in actually have a higher ceiling than the ones they replaced.
