#2 VICTOR CURNE

Did anyone notice Pete called him tough enough to play inside but also athletic (black) enough to play outside. We need more black players

S/O @Dennis_DeYoung @CokeGreaterThanPepsi just listed to the pod when huff was hired lmao

In my defense, have you seen Huff?!?!?

I was wrong about Bush, too. I liked the Malloe hire. When he was hired, I thought Pease was a great hire and Jimmy Lake was a moron.

I thought Kwiatkowski was a fuckface.

I liked Gregory.

My record with coach predictions is not worth $10.95

That’s more honesty than you would ever see from any of the doogman guys. And it’s free!

This, more than anything, is why I pay my $10.95.

“No excuses. I was fucking wrong.”

Holy shit is that refreshing.

Better to be good at predicting players than good at predicting coaches IMHO.

So you're saying that we'd be better off calling out the times you are right instead of the times you're wrong?

Curne's got future all conference written all over him ... very mobile and powerful out of the G position.

If you have an elite OL, what you're looking for are G's that are as adept in run blocking (typical strength of a G) as they are at pass blocking (typical weakness). When you think about it, the typical pass rusher in the middle combines typical size of a DT requiring strength but needed agility to pick up the blitz from a mobile LB and/or S.

When you imagine a player of Curne's caliber playing G against an Alabama and then compare to what we had in Atlanta with Nick Harris and it's night and day difference. Curne is what a high end SEC/National Elite G looks like.

If there was only someone that thought recruiting in Texas was a good idea ...

We got one guy. Albeit an elite guy. Jerangian is looking like a lock though.

If you look at the last handful of classes, we've gotten Fuller (not terrible), Levi (future all conference player), and Curne.

As you mentioned, we're looking really good for Jernigan.

I suspect that we'll continue to pull at least 1 very good player out of Texas each year and it wouldn't shock me if we were able to get up to 2-3 in the next few years.

The thing is that we don't need to be in Texas pulling out a ton of guys ... but if we can supplement our usual recruiting areas with some other areas where we're able to get an elite caliber player that just increases the number of elite guys that we'll be able to bring in. And ultimately, that's how we're building classes consistently at a level that gets us on that National Level consistently.

do we? know if those LSU and A&M offers were actually ones he would have been able to actually commit to, though?
