1986 ended in disappointment, but opening the season with crushing victories over two top 10 teams made us think national championship for a couple weeks. Then we got an attitude readjustment against USC. I think the Trojans sacked Chandler six times if I remember right, in a 20-10 loss.

I remember that game and the rain that day (typical Suckattle) and watching the last few minutes of the tie with UCLA at a friend's house.
Being in elementary school, ties were new to me and it seemed weird.
