Such blatant revisionist history. He sat in the pocket patting the ball not wanting to throw it unless someone was 5 yards clear which rarely happens against good teams. He also often escaped the pocket early browning style right into the edge rusher instead of stepping up into the pocket to throw or runI think you guys are over stating the amount of blame the QB gets and underrating how poorly the OL and Fisch protect him. All three of the good defenses he faced were in the backfield in less than a two count on more pass plays than not. There doesn't seem to be much in the way of quick, conservative passing in Fisch's offense, and the OL struggles at pass blocking. That's a rough combo.
I know the OL got better compared to 2024. That doesn't make it good though, and it isn't.

He can tear up shit teams like Purdue. The QB can throw the ball. Big overreaction by the board because a young QB played bad against a top 10 defense. When he’s tearing it up the next two years, it will be, “but he did suck when he was a sophomore.” He’s a good player already and he will get better.Could it be argued that Mills was out best OL? Not concerned about anyone's age only hoping the QB can throw the ballJess is already talking about starting the 5 star OL. We will be even younger next year than this year.
If Demond transferred, a lot of big schools would line up to get him.
FYFMFE Mike Leach originated if you’re not coaching it, you’re allowing it to happenI put all of Demond’s shortcomings (SWIDT?) on Fisch. If he can’t help the QB improve as the team’s head coach and playcaller, Demond’s failures are on him.
Fuck Fisch.
Nah no revision happening here. I don't mean to try to change your mind either. You always seem to be all in or all out, as your reversal regarding Williams illustrates.Such blatant revisionist history. Fair enough. If I'm being nuanced I can agree with your 3rd paragraph. We've seen his highs and lows I suppose what's missing is a meaty middle.Nah no revision happening here. I see plenty of what you see too. He has some trust issues and needs to rip it at times. He's also suffering from shell shock like so many other talented QBs we've seen struggle behind shit pass pro.
I won't stick my neck iut any farther than to say that I don't think he's cooked. There is plenty there to work with. If they brought in someone better I wouldn't bat an eye on Demond's behalf. I'm just not putting all of the blame for the shit offense on him.
Shouldn't the award be for 15 second dropbacks rather than 1.5 second one?Fair enough. If I'm being nuanced I can agree with your 3rd paragraph. FWIW the oline won their award in 23 because Penix took a short drop and threw it in 1.5 seconds. I want Demond to be good but I don't think it serves anyone to shovel the issues on to what I believe is a serviceable oline
I would put Demond at 5 or 6. Altmyer is a toss up. I can’t say the Rutgers QB is better.@RoadDawg55

If Washington on Maryland or Iameleava were on UW I suspect they would be just as good as Demond was as well
