Where in my post did you see surprise? I was recapping the thread to that point.

I knew Obama was a liar the day he started running for President the first time. McCain was a liar too, and Romney. So is Hillary. As you noted, they are ALL liars. I do think Obama comes from a climate (Chicago) where politics and lies are an art form, so I think he is likely less honest than most politicians, but I have no facts to support that.

People tie yellow ribbons to their mailboxes, and say "Support the Troops," and some really motivated folks actually donate time and money to Wounded Warriors, but in the day of the smaller Army and all volunteer force, very few people are directly impacted by the war. It's not like WWII or Vietnam, where everyone had a brother or nephew or whatever over there. So, people say the right things, and you hear prayers at baseball games and shit, but at the end of the day most people aren't too mindful of it, nor engaged with it.

I on the other hand got to go to Iraq thanks to Bush and his merry band of idiots, so I have some strong feelings about that war, and my place in it. I must admit, I did vote for Bush, so I guess I sent myself to Iraq. FML.
