Yes, in Dallas. It's a connected place, though not a tippy top academis prowess place. Lake would not approve.
Yes, on USC. No on Pepperdine. Pep not that tough an admit. SMU is in that ball park, if not more a smidge more competitive. Better business school and you can get to Wall Street from SMU. Can't do it from Pep. Mind you, I'm no fan of the city of Dallas, but the SMU campus is nice, the school is well thought of and there are some beauties there. Pep also a place for real Christians. Fine with that but not a fun crowd. If I were paying for it, I'd say yes to SMU and no to Pep. Always have thought of Pep as a weird place.

Huh? Isn’t smu in dallas

yeah. Most of the students aren’t from Dallas, though. Rich private hs kids who apply to usc/pep/tulane/vandy/smu with smu (at least when I was in college) being one of the easier of that group to get into.

Similar to how Marquette is the backup school for ND/Boston college. I know three Smu girls and all three wanted to go to SC but didn’t get in.

I never understood Pepperdine until I visited a friend who was living in corral canyon and played some tennis with him at dusk on the Pepperdine courts. Unreal view from up there and John McEnroe was playing one court over with one of his friends. That’s when I started to get the appeal.
