$10K?

@MelloDawg

Any thoughts on why tuition keeps going up as the government keeps subsidizing student loans? Despite schools having billions of dollars and also received 10s of millions of taxpayer money on covid funds and spending bills?

You think that's a winner for the democrats? Middle class workers fucked over by inflation and energy costs paying for school loan defaults?

Lucky for you the GOP is gutless like brents but in no logical world is this a good issue for you

If you'd care to actually engage

Our buddy Bob Reich blames current inflation on greedy corporations for cutting wages and paying no taxes. I assume he’s blaming the universities for the costs out pacing general inflation by 5x since the 1970’s.

Transfer of wealth from the poor to the rich. I wonder how this affects the big inflation and deficit reduction the dems put into place part week?

No one ever holds these assholes accountable for anything. People have the memory of a gnat

Loan forgiveness is taxable income.

Way to pump up the revenue, Cho Bai Den - so now the saps who weren't paying their student loans any way now have to come up with the $$$$ to pay the IRS instead.
Hence the need for 87,000 new agents?

I guess that's the going rate for a vote these days. When the Vegetable signs his illegal EO today, he's handing the GOP House his articles of impeachment submission. If they do not make his Impeachment priority number ONE, we know it's over folks.

Yes, it would be great messaging for the GOP House to impeach him for cancelling student debt.

How about impeaching him for investigating a political opponent?

Or were you against impeaching Trump the first time?

We're gonna impeach the mother fucker!

Fun fact. 56% of all student loan debt is held by the 13% of students who went to grad school.

Joey is Robin Hood in reverse.

Do NOT worry about the bailout cost people. Joey’s AA lead propagandist says that it’s all paid for because of the work Joey has done to strengthen the economy.

They know their voters are idiots. All 81M. Allegedly.

I guess there was a provision in the 2021 covid bill that any loans written off would be a tax free event until 2026

Until that gets waived/cancelled as well

If you make $59.99 per hour (or less) you qualify for the loan cancellation

However if you make $60.00 no soup for you.

We understand this a buying of votes, but on twitter people are celebrating this like it's the best idea ever b/c of all the perks evil businessman and "the rich" get, so that makes it okay.

Half a trillion is not trivial, and anyone who believes this is a one time deal is delusional.

Why would anyone pay another dime on their student loans from this point forward (answer is they won't) so as article above states in 5 years the overall amount will be back to where it is today.

This just allows college to continue raising tuition other rates at a far faster rate than inflation or income as they have the ultimate backstop of getting paid. US Govt

It was in the 2021 covid bill

The Federal government and congress is the entire problem, but it's solvable without their input.

28 states have signed onto calling for a convention of states to propose a balanced budget amendment to the constitution. Get to 34 and it must be called for a vote. This is really the only way to get the Federal government and congress under control.

Notice which states aren't on the map and blame their legislatures for the out of control spending of congress.

I'm alright with it, and no, I have no student loan debt, and only like $200 of c.c. debt. Tuition used to be reasonable. Then 20 years ago, it started to become ridiculous.
