Just started watching a series on AppleTV about the Vietnam War. Heartbreaking. Truly heartbreaking at the loss of life for something that didn't have to be. "Proportional" should mean, you shoot a rocket we demolish your ability to manufacture rockets. Not a 1 for 1 trade of munitions.
Such deterrents also let Iran and it's other proxies know what finding out looks like.

So, the dementia patient and the Euros managed to play proportional response with the Houthis starting in October 2023 with the expected results. Trump and the Israelis in the last few weeks have taken out their major port to eliminate Iranian shipping weapons into Yemen and taken out the international airport eliminating air transport. I'm not sure what the mythical center left response that AOG claims has the moral high ground would have been. But we do know what the insane response from Trump accomplished.
