So I'm reading an article on si.com about college football. In it, there is a puff piece on a female kicker at Kent State. She was put on scholarship. Here is a line from the story. Goss's range as a kicker is consistently good up to the 10-yard line according to Haynes.

Its one thing if the person is actually a good kicker, but this is just silly and slightly insulting to the opposing team

The slut barely cleared the cross bar from pat range. What a joke. Stick a fruitcake like freetommy out there to kick pats. Results would be better, well, maybe J anyway . Tommy wouldnt suit up, he'd rather hang in the showers soaping up the guys' backsides after the game. Hopefully she takes a huge hit and ends this stupid stunt and attempt at free pub.

IMHO it is more insulting to the person who got a scholarship based off of some factor they can't control (sex) versus actual merit.

FWIW the article says nothing about her range nor does it say anything about her being on scholarship, just that she has been with the team since 2012. Maybe they edited since you read it?

"Goss's range as a kicker is consistently good up to the 10-yard line according to Haynes. He's not ruling out letting Goss kick again this season, or opposed to letting her attempt a field goal."

Thanks @RoadDawg55, I had googled SI April Goss and ended up with a different article.

Sounds like she has accomplished more as a member of her team than Cory Fuavai has on his team....
